No Perfect Parenting Frederick Douglass once said, ââ¬Å"It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.â⬠Parents want the best for their children. The dream is always to raise a happy and successful child. However, with so much external information from the media and other parents, itââ¬â¢s hard to know what is truly the best for a child. With thousands of years of parenting experience under the belt of human history, one pay expect that a perfect style of parenting had been found. However, every child is different, thus preventing the discovery of one foolproof method of child rearing. With this obstacle in mind, a disgruntled parent may ask ââ¬Å"Does it even matter?â⬠No matter the parenting style, there will always be children that make decisions that result in being considered unsuccessful. With this information in mind, I suggest that there is no perfect parenting style for all, only a style that will be perfect for the specific child. Parents desire success for their children, but what does that mean? Perhaps one parent pictures a successful child playing the violin with a famous orchestra in front of thousands of people. Another parent imagines an ideal child as the CEO of a Fortune 500 company. Success is in the eye of the beholder. There must be a specific goal in mind. A parent should plan accordingly to raise their child in the way they believe will result in success. Many parenting styles claim to be the ideal way to raise a successful child.
